Safari to River's End is the latest offering from Murray River Trails which connects guests with one river across two regions with very different landscapes.
Including return transfers from Adelaide, this gentle river journey travels through the Australian outback to the Murray Mouth over 5 days and 4 nights immersed in nature on Australia’s iconic Murray River, staying in absolute river luxury.
One River, Two Contrasting Landscapes
This new tour extends our 3 days and 2 nights Murray River Safari (in Renmark, north east of Adelaide) with a further 2 nights in the famous Coorong and Murray mouth region (based in Goolwa, south east of Adelaide). Magnificently capturing the landscapes and wildlife diversity, linking the wetlands in the Riverland to the wetlands of the Lower Lakes and Coorong, where the Murray mouth opens to the Southern Ocean. Birdlife abounds.
Meet Aboriginal elders and experience the Aboriginal dreaming and cultures along this meandering river as you journey from Erawirung Country to Ngaut Ngaut Conservation Park en route to the Coorong in the heart of the Ngarrindjeri Nation.
Encounter wildlife in two wetlands of international importance - Riverland Ramsar Site and Coorong and Lakes Ramsar site. Wildlife sightings may include the Rainbow bee-eater, Sacred kingfisher, Emu, Red kangaroo, Koala, Brush-tailed possum and Australia fur seal.
Each day you'll be guided through gentle activities such as hiking through bush and along beaches, canoeing the Murray River and the Murray Mouth. You'll visit the great ephemeral lakes that are home to hundreds of birds and cruising the Murray River on the houseboat is also a treat.
The menu showcases local fare such as locally grown Murray Cod, fresh pipis and premium Riverland and Fleurieu wines. All food and beverages are included.
